Heart of it All is a column, a collection, a series, documenting issues and people not often found on the front pages. It’s a bit like what I was writing for ALIVE. I’ll focus on documenting the overdose crisis and the folks working at the grassroots to address it as well as stories and research I encounter while reporting.
And the people doing the work are often the people who are most harmed by national and state policies. They are often people without power, but I think they’re powerful people–and I think their stories are magnificent. They give me so much hope!
